Work: Selected Work: Berkeley Hills Residence
Berkeley, California
1610SF
This was the original studio space for William Wurster during the early 1940's. An original art deco house is replaced in the spirit of Wurster's style to create frames for living in the hills of Berkeley. The steep topography of this project's site feels remote and semi-rural, even though it is surrounded by houses. This small three-bedroom house is simultaneously grounded in the hillside and suspended over the street below with panoramic views of San Francisco and beyond.
